The Simplicity of The Gospel

In today’s devotional teaching, we’d look into something very important, but simple; we’ll explore a crucial yet straightforward concept. The Gospel is Goodnews, and Goodnews is simple to embrace. The Gospel is so simple that you need someone to confuse you.

The challenges most believers face today are supposed to be bread for them, but they’d rather listen to a perverted or distorted gospel, doctrines of men and evil over the pure simplicity of Christ. Some even believe if it is too simple, it can’t be true; but in the Gospel, it is the other way round. However, with the Gospel, simplicity is the truth. The Gospel is God’s Goodnews to man; so good to be true!

2 Corinthians 11:3 (KJV)
But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

The devil has managed to keep many of God’s children in bondage due to their lack of understanding of who Christ truly is, who they are, and what they possess. Although they have been delivered, they continue to seek freedom; accepted by God, but they still struggle with guilt and condemnation. Just as the serpent deceived Eve, many are be being led astray from the simplicity of Christ

The purity of the Gospel lies in its simplicity. You can not improve on what Jesus had already done, you can not be more righteous than you were when you first got born again, because righteousness is God’s gift and nature imparted into your spirit man; you should not be found praying to receive the fruits of the Spirit; they are already a part of your recreated human spirit; you should not be messed up by the enemy because you are now superior to him.

Galatians 5: 1 (KJV)
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Galatians 5: 1 (MSG)
Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.

At salvation, you have gained liberty, but they enemy is not pleased with your liberty; he’s looking opportunity to make you doubt what you once believed. He aims to put a yoke on bondage you so you can go back to the zone where you place your trust on your efforts and performances over what Christ has done for you. This is yoke of the enemy. You have to take a stand, a stand to live solely in the liberty Christ had provided or get entangled by the yoke of the law.

Colossians 2: 8 (KJV)
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Colossians 2: 8 (NLT)
Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.

Here’s Paul’s warning to you, If you are such a person who loves to hear high sounding nonsense rather than the simplicity of Christ; you want deeper things than the depth of Christ revealed in the Word; then you are being deceived and led astray by the emptiness in this world.

Nothing is deeper than the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Nothing is deeper than forgiveness of sins, your new creation realities in Christ, nothing is deeper than your commitment to the local church and the ministry gift over your life. Nothing is higher or deeper than the word of God and the leading of the spirit, a fervent prayer life, commitment to soul winning and sacrificial giving.

Our lives revolve around two key elements: the finished works of Christ and the ongoing work of the Spirit. We are a people of the Word and of the Spirit. Embrace this freedom steadfastly and reject any form of bondage or enslavement—this is authentic, genuine life in Christ. This is the simplicity that is in Christ Jesus.

DECLARATION
I live my life in the simplicity of the Gospel of Christ and unlink myself from any yoke of bondage, tradition and human philosophy. I submit to the lordship of the word of God, the leading of the Holy Spirit. (Please spend more time to pray in the Holy Ghost)
