The Greatest Miracle Of All
Ephesians 2: 8 – 9 (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
From the scripture, it is clearly seen that Salvation is a GIFT. Salvation is God’s gift to man. It can not be earned by one’s personal works, performance or effort; it can not be achieved by keeping laws and obligations.
Salvation cannot be attained, salvation is obtained. Salvation is a complete and finished work of grace, all that is needed by man is to receive it by faith.
Also, salvation cannot be improved upon or enhanced, it is a finished work of God for man, this confirmed what Jesus said on the cross when He gave up the ghost, “It is finished”. Through salvation, the rule of sin and sickness is finished, the reign of the devil has come to an end in the life of the believer, Satan has been disarmed, defeated, dethroned and disgraced.
Salvation is by GRACE ALONE, through FAITH ALONE, IN CHRIST ALONE, to the GLORY OF GOD ALONE.
Salvation takes care of sin’s effect and consequences. God does not record or count our sins anymore. God will not punish us again for our sins because all sins have been punished in the body of Christ Jesus on the cross. Jesus was made sin for us so that we will not carry the weight and the punishment of sin any more.
If God would punish a believer for the sins he once punished Christ for, that would be injustice to Jesus; Jesus would have suffered in vain if man has to suffer again for his sin.
Jesus established “The Law Of Jeopardy” on our behalf. Double jeopardy is a legal principle that generally prevents a person from being tried twice for the same offense by the same jurisdiction. Jesus had been tried for what we could have been tried for. All the demands of justice had been met by Jesus in suffering, death, burial and resurrection.
2 Corinthians 5 : 19 (TLB)
For God was in Christ, restoring the world to himself, no longer counting men’s sins against them but blotting them out. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others.
Who Can Be Saved?
John 3: 14 – 16 (KJV)
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The scripture above answers the question, SALVATION IS FOR WHOSOEVER… Whosoever means anyone. The Bible never told us who can not be saved, that means no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace. It does not matter how wretched, broken, sinful, messed up or morally bankrupt such a person is, salvation is for that person.
Anyone can be saved! Salvation is not exclusively reserved for some people; you can’t buy it, you can’t work for it or earn it; it is for Whosoever believes in the suffering, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
Romans 10: 9 – 10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Salvation is received upon believing in the finished works of Jesus; in the suffering, death, burial and resurrection of Christ Jesus and also confessing his Lordship . At the point a man believes and confesses the Lord Jesus, a new birth happens immediately. Salvation is also termed as “The New Birth, The New Creation or Born Again Experience”.
Salvation, this is the greatest miracle of all. We have saved from spiritual death and the wrath to come; we have been declared justified, discharged and acquitted from all the effects and consequences of sin. God loves us as much as He loves His Son, Jesus. We have gained peace with God, we are in Christ justified and He lives in us forever glorified.
