Settle This Today! No More Guilt…
Prayer is simply talking to God. There’s no devotion without Prayer. Prayer is communication between you and God. Prayer is talking to God about yourself, needs, family, other people, nations, places, anything or even talking to God about Himself.
When you read and study your Bible, God talks to you, but when you pray, you are simply talking to God.
Prayer is one of the most spiritual and important activities the believer should constantly engage in. It should be on top of our to-do-list, it should be our topmost priority. Prayer is the most potent weapon we possess in our spiritual arsenal to destroy the stronghold of the devil.
Today, we shall be looking at 2 major perspectives we must have before we pray.
1. God is more eager to respond than we are to ask.
God cherishes your prayers and delights in hearing them. He treasures the sound of your voice in prayer. God is more eager to respond than I am to ask, more ready to answer than I am to begin praying.
James 1: 17 [MSG]
Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle.
Romans 8: 32 [KJV]
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Settle in your innermost being that God is more than willing to answer you than you’re willing to request. If you know the answers we can get through prayer, you will pray everyday!
2. Know who you are and what you have in Christ!
Do you know the believer has authority as much as Jesus? Do you know the same Spirit that raised up Christ is the same Spirit that dwells in you? Do you know that the believer is joint heir with Christ, and that belongs to Christ belongs to the believer, do you that, the authority the Father God vested on Jesus was vested to the believer as well, do you know that the believer has the life and nature of God, do you know that the righteousness of God has imparted and credited in to the believer?
These are present-day realities; it’s not about what God will do, but what He has already accomplished. They are completed actions. If a believer prays or makes requests without this understanding, they are underutilizing their power, rights, and privileges.
2 Corinthians 5: 21 [KJV]
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Think about it, we are the righteousness of God in Christ. Do you know what the Bible says about the prayer of a righteous man? The prayer of a righteous man avails much, they make tremendous power available. Your prayer is powerful, my prayer is powerful.
Your prayers are not pleasing to the Father simply because they sound eloquent or sorrowful, or because you have fulfilled certain moral duties. They are heard and answered because of our right standing with God. Prayers are ordained to receive answers due to the righteousness imparted into our spirit by God.
Say it louder, I AM THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS
Say it louder, THERE’S NO CONDEMNATION FOR ME
Say it louder, GOD LOVES ME AS MUCH AS HE LOVES JESUS
Say it louder, ALL THAT CONCERNS ME IS PERFECT
Say it louder, I AM HOLY AND RIGHTEOUS BEFORE GOD
Say it louder, GOD IS ALWAYS HAPPY TO HEAR ME WHEN I PRAY.
The enemy’s primary objective is to accuse and condemn you, instilling guilt and causing you to question your righteousness and standing before God. However, nothing can negate your right standing—not the devil, nor even yourself. You were redeemed at a great price, and thus, no accusation from the enemy can prevail unless you permit it. Once you firmly accept this truth, the enemy loses all power over you.
Hebrews 4: 16 (KJV)
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Boldness comes as a result of knowing who you really are. Boldness is predicated on the understanding of your identity. Your identity is not determined by what happens around you but who is inside of you – The Greater One lives in you. The strong and breasted one. The righteous is as bold as lion. Boldness is your trait – manifest it, don’t cower or shiver.
Boldness stems from truly understanding your identity. It is not shaped by external circumstances but by the strength within you—the Greater One living on the inside. You possess the strength of the mighty One, the righteous is as bold as lion. Boldness is your trait – manifest it, don’t cower or shiver. Refuse to shrink back.
