1 Corinthians 6: 11 [KJV]
But ye are washed, but ye are SANCTIFIED, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord.
The greek word used here for sanctified is “Hagiazo” which means to make holy or to set apart for God. This is not what God is trying to do, He’s already done it; this was carried out in each of us at salvation. The believer has been made holy and such is a set apart vessel unto God in Christ Jesus.
Sainthood is not attained in heaven, sainthood is not reached by a right living; it is obtained in Christ! We don’t wait till we get to heaven to become saint, salvation in Christ confers sainthood on us
Sanctification is not what we are trying to get or become. It is a reality now for the believer. The opposite of “Hagiazo” is “Koinos” which simply means “to be unclean or to be defiled”. This was our former state; we were without hope, Godless and alienated from the plan of God, but now we are his very plan. Glory!
1 Corinthians 1: 30 [KJV]
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is MADE UNTO US wisdom, and righteousness, and SANCTIFICATION, and redemption.
Hebrews 2: 11 [KJV]
For both he that SANCTIFIETH and they who are SANCTIFIED are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren.
This is mind blowing. God will not one day sanctify us. He already has! This is a present hour reality. Are you still there praying to God to get you sanctified? O! Brother Nay! It is not what you have to try to attain, it is already obtained in Christ. You’re expected to live out your reality not pray for them. It is yours now!
At salvation, you have received the Zoë life of God and that’s all that matters. All things proceed from it, which includes your stance of righteousness, justification and sanctification. Christ lives in you now, the sanctifier lives in you now, you are the sanctified.
Sanctification is not a process, it is now a reality; and Christ in you is that reality. Every part of you is holy and pleasing unto God. God is your father is forever pleased with you. He’s pleased with you because of the sacrifice Jesus paid on your behalf.
You are not condemned but accepted in the beloved. You’re not guilty, you are the righteousness of God, you’re not a sinner but a saint in Christ. Believe what God says about you not what you feel or think. God’s word is my truth not my feelings! We are led by the Spirit of God not what we feel.
Sanctification is my reality not what I struggle to attain. All I need to do is to because of my identity and live out by true nature. My duty is to show forth and live out my new nature not the old nature.
Romans 6: 14 (KJV)
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Sin has no power over you; sin, guilt, shame and condemnation has lost its grip on you. We have been set apart unto God; we are holy because God made us so. I am a master of sin, Satan and all the beggarly elements of this world, Halleluyah!
