A Legacy For The Gospel

Whenever a great man of God passes on, he does not go with his gifts and calling. They are dropped! God’s gifts and calling are meant to be used in the world, not in heaven.

You hear things like, mantles are hanging in the air. There are not mantles in the air. Jesus didn’t go with his gifts and anointing. He dropped them all. When He ascended up on high, he distributed and gave gifts unto men. Moses passed it on to Joshua, Elijah passed it to Elisha.

Elisha had no one to pass it on to, but his buried bones retained it.

Paul passed it on to Timothy, Timothy committed it to many faithful men.

Only heaven can give the accurate record of those who received their gifts and calling from men like Smith Wigglesworth, T.L Osborn, Kathryn Kuhlman, Kenneth E. Hagin, Ayo Babalola, Idahosa etc. These are people whose work went beyond them, their works speaks and follows after them. The memory of the just is truly blessed.

2 Timothy 2: 2 [GNT]
Take the teachings that you heard me proclaim in the presence of many witnesses, and entrust them to reliable people, who will be able to teach others also.

This is how the gospel got to us; and this is how it will get to others as well. It must be passed down to generations after generations. It must be deliberately and consciously done! God’s gifts, anointing or mantles can be distributed.

In as much as people are being won to the Lord and trained through us, most importantly we must let the work go beyond us. Every believer or minister of the gospel has a teaching, grace, gift and calling that should be entrusted to those coming behind.

This is one way to equip more labourers and to sustain the things of the Spirit. Our days here have an expiry date and we’ll be gone soon. Jesus told us to “make disciples in all nations”.

The heroes of faith mentioned above have done their parts and contributed their quota to the glorious gospel, their legacies live on after them. What will be your testimony too?

Are you waiting for some mantle to fall from the sky on you or you are going to pick up your on mantle and run the race set before you? The impact of the gospel go to us through obedience, what will be your impact on others?

Remember, you will leave this world one day; lots of people have gone, we will go someday. What will be your testimony. Begin a legacy for the gospel of Jesus now, launch that vision today to reconcile the world to Jesus. The world is waiting for your message! Jesus must be revealed in and through us.

CONFESSION
